Fencing Tip :

Close boarded fencing

When nailing the arris rails into a mortised post, avoid knocking the nail completely home (in). Stopping just short will still hold the rails in position and with rails meeting the centre of the post there are no issues with strength.

The advantage when it comes to servicing or damage repairs is a time advantage of around 15 to 20 minutes per post and you avoid damaging the post, unlike when you need to remove wood from around the nail in order to use any extraction tool.
